Welcome!
Welcome - it's great to have you here!
I'm Stephanie Millward MBE, a multi-medalist Paralympian swimmer.
My journey to Olympic success has been one fraught with challenges that, at times, have tested every ounce of my resolve and inner strength, but I am a firm believer that with determination, courage, and a positive mindset, we can overcome anything and build the life of our dreams.
My Story
I was on my way to Olympic glory!
All my hard work was starting to pay off and my dreams were about to come true...and then...everything disappeared almost overnight.
All my hopes, my dreams, my goals, my ambitions...everything squashed!
I awoke in terrible pain and unable to see...Iyou can imagine my heartbreak and my fear!
After many trips to doctors and specialists, test after test...it was confirmed that I had MS - at just 17 years old.
What followed were some very dark days. Times when I felt I couldn't go on. Times when I cursed the world for dealing me this cruel blow. Why me? What had I done to deserve this?
But eventually I pulled myself up. I researched my condition. I worked on my health and most importantly my mindset...I was an athlete after all! I started swimming again and decided not to once again take control of my own destiny. I WOULD achieve my dreams...I just might follow a different path to the one I had originally planned!
So I trained and I fought, and eventually, I became Stephanie Millward MBE... a highly accomplished British Paralympic swimmer, celebrated for my outstanding achievements on the international stage.
I represented Great Britain across multiple Paralympic Games, and secured numerous medals in a range of disciplines...I demonstrated not only my world-class athletic ability but more importantly, my unwavering determination and resilience. I WOULD NOT BE BEATEN!
Because of my own personal journey, I became deeply committed to inspiring positive change. My vision is to reshape the way people think about the future — to show that perseverance, optimism, and courage can redefine what is possible.
I want to spread happiness and hope, I want to encourage others to pursue their dreams and embrace life’s opportunities, regardless of the challenges they face.
I want to build a legacy. One that is defined not only by my achievements in the pool, but also by
uplifting others, teaching resilience, and promoting a future built on positivity and possibility....with the right mindset, ANYTHING is possible!
